One advantage of students having TV in their dorms is that watching TV is a good way for students to relax and be informed. Students' lives are hectic. They have a lot of schoolwork to deal with every day. So if they can watch some comedies to unwind and have a laugh, they will be less stressed out. News programs like BBC news can also keep their updated with current news events. On the other hand, however, some students might abuse their TV time and end up watching TV all day. If that's the case, their studies will be compromised.
